My payment failed. What can I do?
Why do you fail to pay with GoPay? Read the most frequent reasons why payments fail and what you can do about it.
- You card doesn't support online payments
If your card doesn't support online payments, you can't make an online payment.
To make a payment, allow online payments in your bank account.
- You exceeded your card limits
If you have daily limits for your bank account and you exceed those limits, you won't be able to make a payment.
To make a payment, elevate your limits in your bank account.
- You don't have sufficient funds in your bank account
If you don't have enough money in your bank account, you won't be able to make a payment.
To make a payment, top up your bank account.
- Your card has expired
You can't pay with an expired card.
To make a payment, always use a valid card.
- Your card has been issued in a region we don't support
If your card has been issued in a region we don't support, you won't be able to make a payment. We typically don't accept cards issued in countries that are being sanctioned by the European Union or other international organizations, countries that are currently at war, or non-democratic countries.
Sometimes the merchant doesn't allow cards issued abroad. For example, if you want to pay at a Czech website and your card has been issued in the US and the merchant doesn't accept American cards, you won't be able to pay by card. In this case, use an alternative payment method, eg. bank transfer or PayPal.
- Your card hasn't been 3D verified
Whenever you make a payment in the European Union, your payment must be 3D verified. If your bank doesn't support the 3D verification, you won't be able to make a card payment.
In this case, use an alternative payment method, eg. bank transfer or contact your bank.
- You haven't chosen a payment method at the checkout
When you initiate the payment gateway, you need to choose from the payment methods. If you don't select any payment method, the payment will be cancelled.
- You clicked the back button too early
You should never click the back button while the payment is still processing. By clicking the back button the payment is cancelled.
- You closed the window in your browser while the payment was still processing
You should never close the window in your browser while the payment is still processing. By closing the window the payment is cancelled.
- A technical issue or outage occurred
Sometimes a technical issue or payment outage can occur. To find out whether the gateway operates as usual you can check the payment gateway status at the status website.
- Your browser doesn't support the payment
Your browser might not support the payment. This is typically caused by several browser extensions (eg AdBlock, etc).
To make the payment, you can try to pay from an anonymous window or from a different browser.
If you still can't make the payment even though you followed the above mentioned instructions, contact out customer support at podpora@gopay.cz.
