We carry out the portal check as soon as we receive the completed Registration form from you.
It is a process in which we go through your portal and the details you have given us about yourself. We do our best not to keep you waiting for the result of the check for more than a week.
During the Portal check we find out, among other things:
what goods or services you plan to accept payments for through GoPay,
whether your portal has terms and conditions and the other Requirements for a merchant outlet,
who the beneficial owner of your company is, if you want to work with us as a company.
The aim of the check is to verify that nothing stands in the way of the cooperation and that the information we based the Indicative offer on matches reality and complies with our acceptance policy.
💡 GoPay's tip: Why are we interested at all in who is behind your company, or what goods and services you want to accept payments for through GoPay? Because we have to respect the applicable laws and the card scheme rules. For example, under the AML Act (the anti-money laundering act) we are obliged to verify the identity of our clients and, in the case of companies, to know their beneficial owners. The card scheme rules in turn require us not to offer payment card acceptance for certain types of goods and services. You will find an explanation of how our acceptance policy works in the article Why does GoPay refuse certain kinds of goods?
We may contact you during the check with a request for additional details.
This mainly happens when your portal is not finished, when it is in a beta version, for example, or in some other state from which we cannot tell what goods and services you want to accept payments for through GoPay and how your business model works.
We also often need to verify your ownership structure. In that case we will send you what is called a KYC form during the check (you will find a template attached to this article), which serves to identify the beneficial owners. Fill the form in, have it signed by the person authorised to act on behalf of your company, and send it back scanned.
The outcome of the Portal check is:
approval of the cooperation under the terms in the Indicative offer,
approval of the cooperation with amended terms in the Indicative offer,
refusal of the cooperation.
If the result of the check is approval of the cooperation under the terms in the Indicative offer, we will send you the contract for electronic signature and, at the same time, what is called the Test integration list with the details that let you test your payment gateway integration in the test environment.
We take the same step when the cooperation is possible but with amended terms. Your account manager will tell you the new terms and will also send them in the contract for electronic signature.
Your account manager will also inform you if we find during the check that the cooperation cannot go ahead.
