In this article, the following functions of the Shoptet GoPay+ add-on and how they can be used are described in more detail. The article is divided into the following parts:
A. Marking order statuses
B. Generating payments via a payment link for an order
C. Linking the payment-generating link for an order to an automatic e-mail
D. The language of the payment methods vs. the language of the payment gateway
Setting up the methods for the GoPay+ add-on correctly is the basis – for the functions of the GoPay+ add-on to work correctly, the payment methods for the GoPay+ add-on have to be imported and set up correctly. You can import and set up the payment methods following the procedure described in the help centre in the part “How do I set up payment methods for the GoPay+ add-on?”, and it is described here in points:
In Connections > GoPay+ > Displayed payment methods, set the configuration you need (we recommend keeping the Display variant – Simple display, which ensures that all the individual payment methods currently enabled are imported for you; if you do not want to offer some of them to customers, you can then remove the unwanted payment methods in the Payment methods section), and the IMPORT button creates and uploads all the payment methods currently enabled into the Payment methods section. This step is confirmed by the green text “The payment methods have been imported.”.
You also have to import the payment methods whenever you add a new payment method that you have activated/switched on in your GoPay business account later. For example Apple Pay (first make sure in your GoPay business account that you have activated the Apple Pay method following these instructions), or the BNPL deferred payments Twisto and Skip Pay (first make sure that you have the BNPL methods switched on at the payment gateway side in the GoPay business account payment method settings). So in Connections > GoPay+ > Displayed payment methods you again set the configuration you need and the IMPORT button creates and uploads all the newly enabled payment methods into the Payment methods section.
If, however, the red text “No (further) methods to import were found.” is displayed after the import, then all the payment methods currently enabled have already been created and uploaded in the Settings > Shipping and payment > Payment methods section and cannot be imported again.
You then also need to make the methods visible in the Visibility column in the Settings > Shipping and payment > Payment methods section. If they are greyed out, they are not visible.
The default names of the imported methods in Czech within the GoPay+ add-on are, for example, On-line platba kartou, On-line bankovní převod, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Bitcoin, Premium SMS, Paysafecard, m-platba and PayPal.
You can adjust the order of a method (the order it is displayed in in the basket) in the column to the right of the Visibility column. Grab the cross on the row of the method in question and drag it to the position you want (e.g. first), then click Save.
.
In the detail of an imported method you can change the method name, but the Payment type parameter setting must never be changed.
A common mistake when importing is that the method is created in a way other than the one we recommend. Payment methods for the GoPay+ add-on cannot be added manually in the Payment methods section using the Add button. In that case the related functions would not work, and we recommend first removing such incorrectly created payment methods in the Payment methods section and then importing and setting up the payment methods following our recommended procedure.
A. Marking order statuses
The order status changes on the basis of changes in the statuses of the payment(s) created for it, via HTTP notifications informing about the changes. It is always necessary to distinguish between the order status and the status of the payment(s) created for the order in question. It can therefore be said that changes in the status of the payment(s) then update the status of the order the payment(s) relate to.
In Connections > GoPay+ > Settings you can switch on the following options.
Mark the order as paid – in the Orders section a dot is displayed next to the order (1.), where green means a paid payment and the other colours mean unpaid. If several payments are made for an order and one of the payments for the order is in the Paid – PAID state, the marker next to the order changes to green, naturally also taking restarts of the payment into account. Otherwise the order status cannot change to paid.
Note: several payments can be created for one order if the function for generating payments via a link is switched on, i.e. the function described in the next part of this article.
Order status after a successful payment – the order status (2.) it changes to if the payment for the order is completed in the Paid – PAID state.
Order status after an unsuccessful payment – the order status (2.) it changes to if the payment for the order is in the Cancelled – CANCELED or Expired – TIMEOUTED state.
The names of the order statuses are defined in Shoptet (in the Settings > Orders > Statuses section); the GoPay payment gateway and the GoPay+ add-on have no influence on the terminology.
An example from the section where the individual order statuses are managedThe order status can change on the basis of an HTTP notification, which takes place for each individual payment; for the order, the final state of the payment is always taken into account – if several payments are created for the order, then the final state of one of them (note: several payments can be created for one order if the function for generating payments via a link is switched on, i.e. the function described in the next part of this article). The final payment states can be Payment cancelled – CANCELED, Payment expired – TIMEOUTED, or Payment paid – PAID.
The order status does not change on the basis of payment(s) created outside the GoPay+ add-on, for example if you use your own script or create payments via an additional payment link generated in the GoPay business account.
B. Generating payments via a payment link for an order
We would rather repeat that the function can only be used if the payment methods are imported and set up correctly (see the paragraph "For the functions to work correctly…." above).
The function requires Other settings in Connections > GoPay+ > to have Generate new payment link switched to Yes and the link's lifetime set under Validity of the generated link (you can choose 1 to 7 days).
If the Yes option is also set for Insert the link into the order comment, the link is displayed in the order detail (Orders > Overview > detail of the order in question > Comments).
The Open the next payment at the method selection option means that, for a new payment created via the link, either the pre-selected payment method (the one chosen for the first payment created once the order was completed) or the menu with the selection of all the payment methods enabled is displayed when the payment gateway is invoked.
The link for generating a new payment for an order can be used if the following conditions are met:
Connections > GoPay+ > Other settings is switched on and Validity of the generated link
is set the link's lifetime has not expired (determined by the Validity of the generated link setting)
no successfully paid payment (Paid – PAID) has been made for the order yet
a payment has been made for the order (for example the very first one created once the order was completed) that is in the Declined (Declined – CANCELED) or Expired (Expired – TIMEOUTED) state
no payment has been made for the order that ended in the Payment method selected (Selected – PAYMENT METHOD CHOSEN) state – as standard you have to wait until the payment state changes from Payment method selected to one of the final states (Declined – CANCELED, Expired – TIMEOUTED, or Paid – PAID)
C. Linking the link generating new payments for an order to an automatically sent e-mail
We would like to point out that sending e-mails automatically is a Shoptet function, not a function of the GoPay payment gateway and the GoPay+ add-on, and the procedure described here is based on the Shoptet environment. An article on the options for setting up automatic e-mail sending is described in detail directly in the Shoptet help centre.
The link generated by the GoPay+ add-on can be inserted into e-mails.
The condition is that Generate new payment link is switched on in the Connections > GoPay+ > Other settings section and that the link's lifetime is set under Validity of the generated link.
In Connections > GoPay+ > Settings you then need to set the relevant order status under Order status after an unsuccessful payment.
In the Settings > E-mails > Automatic sending > Order statuses tab you will find the e-mail templates that can be sent automatically.
In the detail of a specific template you can edit the e-mail wording, and using the tag #ONLINE_PAYMENT_BUTTON# you ensure that the link for generating a new payment for the order is inserted automatically into the body of the e-mail.
If the conditions above are met, an e-mail will be sent automatically when the order status changes, and the e-mail will contain a link for generating a new payment for the order. You still have to allow for the link's lifetime, however (its period of validity + until a payment is paid successfully, or conversely until a payment does not remain in a non-final state).
The link can also be inserted into the body of other automatic e-mails, for example so that it is sent immediately after the order is completed and the initial payment created. We do not recommend this variant, however, because the customer can create another payment straight away via the link in the e-mail once the order is completed, and there is a risk that they would complete both payments one after the other.
D. The language of the payment methods vs. the language of the payment gateway
The language the payment gateway is invoked in for a payment created from Shoptet is determined by two setting variants in Connections > GoPay+ > Other settings > Language.
Variant 1
If a Gateway language with a specific language (for example FR) is set in Connections > GoPay+ > Other settings > the drop-down, then the payment gateway is displayed in the corresponding language when invoked (in this case in French). In the drop-down you can choose from the languages supported by the payment gateway according to the code list in our technical documentation.
Variant 2
If, however, the Gateway language option in Connections > GoPay+ > Other settings > is set to Default (according to Shoptet), then once the order is completed the same language is displayed as in the e-shop, i.e. the one the customer selected in the e-shop.
In that case the language in question has to be created and made visible in the Shoptet administration in the Settings > Basic settings > Languages section.
For e-shops, Shoptet supports English, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, German, Polish, Romanian and Vietnamese (the language is then displayed at the gateway in English) = the payment gateway can therefore be invoked in these languages.
The payment methods displayed in the basket/order have the language we used when importing, however.
Payment methods can be imported in English, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, German, or French.
