In this article you will learn how to switch from the original GoPay module in Shoptet (supported by Shoptet) to the new GoPay+ add-on (supported by GoPay).

The first step in activating the payment gateway through the GoPay+ add-on is purchasing the GoPay+ add-on in the Shoptet add-on gallery.

Go to the GoPay+ add-on detail and click the Order add-on button.

Once the installation is confirmed, go to the GoPay+ add-on settings using the Go to add-on settings button.

You can also reach the add-on settings from the Shoptet administration via the Connections > GoPay+

section To make the connection, enter your GoPay EVČ on the first page of the add-on settings and click the Load button.

What is the EVČ and where do I find it?

Then select the e-shop you want to activate the add-on on and click Continue.

The information about the selected e-shop will be loaded into the add-on. If you already have a contract and your e-shop is running in production at GoPay, your add-on will already be active.

If you do not have a contract for the provision of the payment gateway, you have to conclude one in order to activate the add-on.

You will find the functionality described below in the Shoptet administration in the Connections > GoPay section.

When the payment result is passed from the payment gateway back to your e-shop, the order status can be changed automatically according to your requirements. Once you have set the behaviour, do not forget to save the settings so that the required behaviour is applied in the add-on.

For your customers to be able to pay, the payment methods have to be imported into your e-shop.

You can choose between two ways of displaying payment methods: simple and condensed.

Before importing, view the preview to see the default descriptions and the display of the imported payment methods.

Then click Import. This uploads the payment methods and pairs them with the primary currency of your portal.

The import may include payment methods that are not available for your country or e-shop.

The availability of the imported payment methods is based on the payment method settings in the GoPay administration. You will find instructions on how to activate payment methods in the GoPay administration in the articleHow do I set which payment methods I want to be active?

The newly imported payment methods have to be made visible so that they are displayed to your customers.

You adjust the appearance, visibility, behaviour and currency rules for the imported payment methods in Settings > Shipping and payment > Payment methods.

Before making the new payment methods from the GoPay+ add-on settings visible, we recommend making only one payment method visible first.

Then check its appearance and display in the order and try a payment.

If everything works, continue setting up the Payment method for the other methods you want to offer within the GoPay+ add-on.

Before saving the newly configured payment methods, do not forget to hide the original GoPay payment method (tied to the original GoPay module managed by Shoptet). Removing its visibility prevents payment methods being displayed twice in your basket.

To set a rule for a given currency, simply click the row with the payment method you want.

Please note that some changes may affect whether the payment methods work correctly.

Before uninstalling the original add-on we recommend leaving both add-ons installed for two days to a week. Just keep the payment methods tied to the original add-on hidden.

If everything works as it should during that period, you can uninstall the original add-on.

Go to the Connections > Add-on manager section, to the Payments tab. Select the GoPay by Shoptet add-on and choose Uninstall.
