In this article you will learn how to activate and set up the GoPay+ add-on on the Shoptet platform.
1. Activating the add-on
The first step in activating the GoPay payment gateway is purchasing the GoPay+ add-on in the Shoptet add-on catalogue.
What you do next depends on whether you are already a GoPay client (you have a contract and an assigned registration number) or whether you are starting with GoPay (you have no contract).
a) I am starting with GoPay
1. Once you have purchased and installed the add-on, go to the add-on administration in Shoptet in the Connections > GoPay section.
2. On the following page, select the "Register with GoPay" option.
3. The GoPay registration form will open in a new window with pre-filled details. Check them and submit the form.
4. A GoPay sales representative will then contact you and take you through the GoPay registration process up to the conclusion of the contract for the provision of the payment gateway.
This process usually takes a few days. During it, GoPay connects the payment gateway to your e-shop so that you can start accepting payments once the contract is concluded.
You will find a detailed description of the GoPay registration process in the Guide to the registration process.
b) I am a GoPay client
1. Once you have purchased and installed the add-on, go to the add-on administration in Shoptet in the Connections > GoPay section.
2. On the following page, enter your EVČ and click load.
3. Select the e-shop you want to activate the add-on on and click continue.
The information about the selected e-shop will then be loaded into the add-on. If you already have a contract and your e-shop is running in production at GoPay, your add-on will already be active.
If you do not have a contract for the provision of the payment gateway, you have to conclude one in order to activate the add-on.
2. Setting up the add-on
You will find the settings and the functionality described below in the Connections > GoPay section of the Shoptet administration.
Switching the order status
When the payment result is passed from the payment gateway to your e-shop, you can change the order status automatically according to your requirements. If you do not select any option, the order status will not change when a payment or non-payment notification arrives.
Once you have set the behaviour, do not forget to save the settings so that the add-on behaves as required.
Payment methods
For your customers to be able to pay, the payment methods have to be imported into your e-shop.
You can choose between two ways of displaying payment methods: simple and condensed.
Condensed display
Simple display
Before importing, view the preview to see the default descriptions and the display of the imported payment methods.
You can also choose whether you want to import payment methods only for the retail part, the wholesale part of your portal, or both. Select the language the payment methods should be imported in.
Then click Import. This uploads the payment methods and pairs them with the primary currency of your e-shop.
The imported payment methods have to be made visible so that they are displayed to your customers. The import may include payment methods that are not available for your country or e-shop.
The availability of the imported payment methods is based on the payment method settings in the GoPay administration. You will find instructions on how to activate payment methods in the GoPay administration in the article How do I set which payment methods I want to be active?
You adjust the visibility, appearance, behaviour and currency rules for the imported payment methods in Settings > Shipping and payment > Payment method.
In this section you will see all the payment methods, including cash on delivery, for example. You can tell that it is a GoPay payment method from the detail of that payment method (open Online card payment, for example), where the Payment type field states GoPay+.
To set a rule for a given currency, simply click the row with the payment method you want.
Please note that some changes may affect whether the payment methods work correctly.
Test mode
In test mode you can test whether the payment gateway works and make payments using a test card.
These transactions are not posted, so they are not credited to your account. The purpose of the test environment is to verify that your e-shop works correctly with the payment gateway.
If you want to switch test mode on, change it to Yes and Save. If you are interested in access to GoPay's test administration, contact GoPay technical support by e-mail.
Generating a new payment link
The Generate new payment link functionality allows a new payment to be generated for an order in the standard way. Combined with Shoptet's functionality for sending e-mails automatically, you can send the link to the customer when the order changes to an unsuccessful status, for example (the change occurs because the initial payment created once the order was completed was not completed successfully). This way the customer can be sent an e-mail with a link they can use to generate a new payment for the same order.
The link generated is then valid until a payment for the order is paid successfully, or until the link's lifetime expires (1 – 7 days) depending on your Validity of the generated link setting, which you configure in Connections > GoPay+ > Other settings.
You will find information on how to insert links into e-mails on the Shoptet platform here (this is Shoptet functionality – the supplier Shoptet will give you more information).
This way you can set the e-mail to be sent when the order status changes to Cancelled / Unsuccessful and so on, for example.
If you do not use e-mail hosting on the Shoptet platform, you can switch on the option of generating the link into the order comment. You can then copy this link from the order comment and insert it into your e-mail.
The Open the next payment at the method selection option determines whether, after the customer clicks the payment link in the e-mail, the payment gateway opens at the payment method selection and the customer chooses the payment method according to their preferences (the selection of payment methods is affected by switching payment methods on and off in the GoPay administration). If No is selected, the gateway opens for the customer at the payment method they chose when ordering.
The name of your e-shop at the payment gateway
You can also change the e-shop name displayed to the customer in the order detail at the payment gateway.
Renewing production keys
If you want to renew the production keys in the add-on, use the Renew button. The production keys are used for communication between the payment gateway and the add-on. These values are given to you before the switch to the production environment and are also passed automatically to Shoptet.
