Technical changes with the new payment gateway design

The rollout of the new payment gateway design brings several changes that may affect your integration, your testing and the appearance of the payment gateway. You may be affected if:

  • you have a logo uploaded to the payment gateway in a bitmap format (JPG/PNG)

  • you use frontend testing with frameworks such as Selenium or Cypress

  • you work with the payment gateway URLs, for example capturing them with a regular expression

1. Change in how the logo is displayed

The new payment gateway will no longer display logos in bitmap formats (PNG/JPG). Only logos in vector graphics (SVG format) will be displayed.

If you do not have a logo in SVG format uploaded yet, follow the article How do I set up a logo on the payment gateway?, which also describes the requirements for the logo.

2. Change in DOM elements

The whole DOM structure changes in the new version of the frontend. If you use testing frameworks such as Selenium or Cypress, or if you rely on various attributes of the DOM elements (id, name) on the payment gateway, this change will probably affect you.

If your automated testing on the e-shop also covers the payment process through GoPay, you may have to adjust your tests.

3. Change in URLs

The URLs of the individual places on the payment gateway change in the new version of the frontend too. The gw_url from the API call keeps the same form. Once it is opened and the customer is redirected to the payment gateway, however, the URLs will differ from those in the old version of the payment gateway.

So if your integration uses mechanisms that work with the payment gateway URLs (for example capturing them with regular expressions), this change may affect your integration.
