Which bank accounts can be accepted for identity verification?
The bank account is verified in accordance with AML Act No. 253/2008 Coll., under which the payment must be received from a bank account registered to the owner.
The conditions for verifying a bank account are:
ownership of the bank account
authorisation to dispose of the bank account
Ownership of the bank account
In the first case, the bank account must be held in the name of the person listed at the bank as the owner of the bank account, i.e. the person the bank account was opened for.
This can be a natural person or a company.
Authorisation to dispose of the bank account
In accordance with the AML Act, the case where authorisation to dispose of the bank account has been granted can also be used, but only in the role of spouse.
The AML Act does not support other cases of authorisation to dispose of an account.
As evidence for verifying a bank account at the level of an authorised person, a document confirming this authorisation must be submitted, e.g. a marriage certificate.
