Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about deferred payments.
Deferred payments at GoPay
What are deferred payments?
Deferred payments are a payment method that allows customers to buy goods or services and pay for them later, usually within a period set in advance. GoPay has extended this service through cooperation with Twisto and Skip Pay.
In addition to a classic deferred payment, they also offer payment in thirds, where the customer splits the payment into three instalments. This method is designed to make buying immediately easier without having to pay the whole amount straight away.Which deferred payments does GoPay support?
GoPay currently supports deferred payments in cooperation with the Twisto and Skip Pay services. Customers can use both classic deferred payments and the option of splitting the payment into three
instalments, i.e. payment in thirds.
How do deferred payments work at GoPay?
The principle is as follows:
Selecting the deferred payment: When making a purchase, the customer selects the deferred payment option (Twisto or Skip Pay) at the GoPay payment gateway.
Approval of the payment: Once selected, the payment is immediately approved by the service provider (Twisto or Skip Pay), which takes on the payment obligation towards the customer and at the same time sends GoPay funds in the amount of the payment.
Settlement: The merchant receives the money for the purchase from GoPay during the standard settlement, as with the other payment methods.
Payment by the customer: The customer repays the amount directly to the deferred payment provider (Twisto or Skip Pay) under the terms of the contract – either in one go after a certain period, or in three instalments, for example.
You therefore learn the result of the payment immediately through an online notification. You will be able to dispatch the goods paid for straight away. We will send you the funds received to your bank account as usual as part of the settlement.
Everything works just as fast as with a card payment or a bank transfer. Twisto or Skip Pay handle the repayment of the payment with the customer, and the repayment has no effect on the payment status notification or on your settlement.
How much do deferred payments cost at GoPay?
Deferred payment with Twisto and Skip Pay: 0.89 % per transaction. Payment in thirds with Twisto and Skip Pay: 1.99 % per transaction.
Can I offer Twisto and Skip Pay at the same time?
Yes, you can offer both deferred payment methods, Twisto and Skip Pay, at the same time through GoPay. Both services are integrated into the GoPay payment gateway, which lets you give customers the option of choosing their preferred deferred payment provider.
How quickly do I learn that a deferred payment has gone through?
You learn whether a deferred payment (Twisto or Skip Pay) has gone through successfully immediately, in real time.
As soon as the customer completes the deferred payment process at GoPay, the system immediately gives you the information that the payment has been approved and successfully processed, via a payment status notification.
As with the other payment methods through GoPay, this information is displayed in the GoPay business account administration. There you will see the details of the payment, including the fact that it was a deferred payment, and the payment will be included in the standard settlement.
