Account updater is a function that allows GoPay to receive the details of a new card from the issuing bank when a customer's card expires.
Thanks to this we can automatically update the details of a saved payment card or of a payment card on which a recurring payment is set up.
The function is therefore intended only for merchants using recurring payments or tokenisation.
How does Account updater work?
If the merchant has the function activated, the update works as follows:
1. The customer's card expires and they receive a new card.
2. GoPay receives the details of the new payment card from the issuing bank.
3. GoPay automatically updates the details of the expired/cancelled card.
A fee is charged for updating a payment card according to the Fee Schedule – CZK 2 per update.
Does Account updater have any conditions?
Apart from processing recurring payments or using tokenisation, setting up the function has no conditions.
