Below you will find the most common reasons why settlement cannot be carried out on a business account:
a) Settlement frequency
Your settlement frequency can be set to daily / weekly / monthly.
If you have a monthly frequency, settlement is carried out once a month. If you want to settle more often, choose a different settlement frequency.
b) The D parameter
Every business account has a settlement delay parameter set, usually 3 days. This is a system-wide setting. If you want to settle today's payment, you need to wait 3 days until the payment is released for settlement.
c) Settlement limit
If settlement cannot be carried out because there are not enough funds on the account, make sure you do not have a settlement limit set on the account. If a limit is set, lower it to a smaller amount, for example the standard CZK 10 or EUR 1, and carry out the settlement. You can then raise the limit back to the original amount.
d) An outstanding debt
If the agreed turnover is not met (CZK 50,000 / EUR 2,050 according to the Fee Schedule), a payment gateway maintenance fee of CZK 190 / EUR 8 is charged each month. If an underpayment has arisen on any of your business accounts, settlement is blocked and the business account where the debt arose has to be topped up. Once it is paid, settlement will resume.
e) A debit movement before settlement is carried out
If you cannot carry out settlement because of insufficient funds, make sure that no debit movement occurred in the period before settlement (during the D parameter window) – for example a payment gateway maintenance fee being deducted, or a cancellation.
You always settle for the period 3 days back – for example, if today is 24 October, you are settling for the period up to 20 October. If the balance is reduced between 20 and 24 October and there are no longer enough funds as at 20 October, settlement will not go through. You can avoid this situation by topping up the required amount to your business account, after which settlement will happen automatically.
