Breakdown of card payment fees

According to the European Parliament and the EU Council regulation 2015/751 card payment fees are listed and accounted for separately by individual categories and brands of payment cards.

Therefore we summarize all fees in our list of fees, respectively in a Registration Form separately in following three groups:

  • Interchange fees - commission received by a specific issuing bank.
  • VISA and MasterCard fees - commission received by a particular card scheme.
  • Other fees – fees divided between bank institutions and other companies that have been involved in processing the payment.

Each category and brand of payment cards may have different amount of fees that are listed in our list of fees, respectively in a Registration Form which is a part of a contract.

GoPay Tip: If you decide not to accept a certain category of payment cards you will need to clearly inform your customers of your decision.
